From July to September, we surveyed over 1,300 New Zealanders about their perceptions and experiences of getting healthcare advice in New Zealand.

This special report highlights:

• The majority (56%) of New Zealanders turn to their GP first when they need health advice
• Just over 1 in 5 New Zealanders haven’t received health advice or treatment from any provider in the last six months, with men being significantly more likely to report this.
• In the last six months, almost a quarter (23%) have used a pharmacy, 20% have seen a dentist, and 17% have seen a nurse.
• Younger New Zealanders are more likely to use the internet (34% of those under 34 years).
