Here are some frequently asked questions from our community:

How much will I get rewarded for each survey?

This can vary a bit, but most surveys we run are worth about $2. You will be rewarded depending on the length of survey (i.e. the longer the survey the more points you will be rewarded with).


How much do I have to earn before I can redeem my rewards?

When you reach $10.05 you will be able to redeem rewards of this value, which include Paypal, Amazon and Mighty Ape vouchers or Donating your $10 to Mairangi Bay Surf Life Saving Club, Child Cancer Foundation, Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ or CBM Charity. However some of our reward options require $20.10, which include Farmers, The Warehouse, Event Cinemas, Mitre 10, Paper Plus, Toyworld, Bendon or Hoyts gift cards. An email alert will be sent both to Perceptive Research and yourself to advise your request to redeem.

How do I redeem my rewards?

  • Log in to our Panel
  • Click ‘Redeem my rewards’ 
  • Select the redemption option you would like
  • Click ‘Redeem’

What happens once I’ve clicked “Redeem”?

The process for redeeming your points is as follows:

  1. When you click 'Redeem' on your profile, we receive a notification email at Perceptive Research with your redemption details.
  2. Rewards are processed on the last day of the month and generally take 4-5 working days to complete processing and posted out (gift cards). This is due to the volume of redemptions we need to process.
  3. When your Amazon gift card is processed you will receive the redemption code via your email address.
  4. When your Mighty Ape gift card is processed you will receive the redemption code via your email address.
  5. When your Paypal payment is processed you will receive an email from Paypal notifying that your funds are available. From here there are three scenarios in retrieving the funds:
    1. Recipients with a PayPal account tied to the email address that contains the payment notification can click a link in the email message, log in to their account, and access their payments.
    2. If the recipients have a PayPal account, but the payment is sent to an email address that is not tied to their account, they are offered an opportunity to log in to their account. Then, when they log in, the money is deposited to their account and the new email address is added to their account automatically.
    3. If the recipients do not have a PayPal account, their email message contains a link that directs them to a PayPal sign-up page (It is free to sign up). The sign-up process automatically confirms their email address. When they complete the sign-up process, the funds will be available in their new PayPal account.

      Once you access/ create your Paypal account, you will then be able to transfer the funds to your personal bank account, or use the Paypal balance for online purchases.
  6. When your Farmers, The Warehouse, Event Cinemas, Mitre 10, Paper Plus, Toyworld, Bendon or Hoyts gift card is processed, you will receive this in the post, allow 5 working days for delivery. Please ensure your address is up to date in your profile.


Will I get surveys very often?

We aim to send at least 3 surveys out a month, but sometimes it can be as many as 5-6 a month.


How long are my reward points valid for?

12 months. You must redeem any reward points earned, within this period.


I clicked the survey link but got a message saying the ‘owner had closed the survey’. Why did this happen?

For each survey we send out, we set a maximum number of responses needed for it. Once this number is reached we will close the survey. You may also receive this message if the final date to complete the survey has lapsed. Most of our surveys are available or active for about a week, but this can vary.


I started a survey but part-way through it sent me to a different page and wouldn’t let me complete, how come?

Most surveys we run have quotas for specific criteria, so we may have already received enough responses for the same criteria you selected.


Someone else in my household is also on the panel, but only one of us could complete the survey.

Surveys are embedded with “cookies” so respondents are unable to participate twice (which would skew our results!). If someone else in the household has accessed the survey from the same browser (Firefox/Internet Explorer/Chrome etc) previously then you will not be able to complete it from that browser as well. You can still access and complete the surveys from a different browser if this happens.
