On 31 October 2024, the Perceptive team joined research agencies and specialists from across New Zealand for the 2024 Research Effectiveness Awards (REAWARDS). Traditionally held every two years, 2024 saw these research industry awards—the only one if their kind in New Zealand—shift to an annual schedule to celebrate and recognise the most impactful research in the country.
The night saw Perceptive come away with two gold awards in the Financial Services Category, and a silver in the Social, Community and Not For Profit Category.
"It's always an honour to be recognised by our industry and peers, and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team in a relentless pursuit of using research and insight to unlock growth potential for our clients," says Daniel Shaw, Managing Director of Perceptive. "A big thank you also goes out to our clients for their trust and partnership which makes achievements like this possible. Congratulations as well to all the other companies recognised for the meaningful work across our industry."
In the Financial Services Category, Xero and Perceptive's global segmentation project received a gold award, with judges commending the "scale, complexity, and a challenging change management brief" and the "how the research programme drives the impressive business results in multiple markets".
By contrast, BDO and Perceptive's lean and efficient research programme for the BDO Business Wellbeing Index also received a gold in the same category. Judges' noted the entry as "a great example of how carefully crafted research, with a modest budget, delivers the insights to create a highly valuable differentiator for BDO, with the results to prove it".
For the Social, Community and Not For Profit Category, the telco customer service tracking programme from Perceptive and The Commerce Commission received a silver award with judges giving a nod to the use of research "to drive significant positive change for telco consumers" and the "robust foundational" nature of the research combined with "industry data and other research to understand the essential issues, and tailor their presentation to all stakeholder groups."
